Friday, October 27

All day: REUNION DAY

Several classes have started to organize their reunions. We can provide you with a class list if you would like to contact your classmates and start making plans. Please contact us if you would like a private class tour of the clinic on Friday afternoon. Alternatively, open house clinic tours for alumni and guests will also be available.

Reunion groups are encouraged to plan a class dinner on Friday evening. Halifax offers many options, from upscale dining to numerous pubs.

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: 50th REUNION LUNCHEON

The Class of 1973 is celebrating its 50th reunion! Private tours, class photos, and luncheons are being hosted at the Faculty for both of the dentistry and dental hygiene classes. Alumni will also receive their special 50th reunion pin. If you have not heard from your classmates with additional detail please contact the alumni office (alumni.dentistry@dal.ca)and we will be sure to connect you.

10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.: OPEN HOUSE CLINIC TOURS

There have been amazing changes in the clinics over the years. Come and see it for yourself!

Open house clinic tours are scheduled on Friday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The size of each tour is restricted so that everyone can hear the tour guide and fit into the spaces. If the tours are full, we will offer additional times.

Saturday, October 28

8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: CE DAY

The Faculty of Dentistry Office of Continuing Professional Education will offer CE sessions in the Dentistry Building. Session details and registration will open in August.

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: OAA PRESENTATIONS

The Dentistry Alumni Committee is pleased to announce the 2023 Outstanding Alumni Award recipients: Dr. Toby Gushue (DDS'73), Dr. Lex MacNeil (DDS'73), and Mrs. Palmer Nelson (DDH'89).

The awards will be presented in the Student Union Building, Wayne Cross Room, #303. The event is open to our community. Please register for your tickets.

7:00 p.m. – midnight: KITCHEN PARTY

To wrap up the weekend, we have planned a private kitchen party in the Grawood pub, located on the first level of the Student Union Building. It will be a casual, fun evening, featuring live Maritime music from the Harbour City Band. You will have to chance to mingle with alumni, faculty, and friends and you may even hear the cries of “Sociable”.

This event will sell out, so be sure to register for your ticket. Please note: tickets will only be honoured until 9 p.m. and then others will be permitted entry, so come early!

REGISTRATION: There is no cost for DentDays (except for CE Day registration), but space is limited. We ask that you please register for all events in advance for your tickets.

ACCOMMODATIONS: The historic Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites is offering a room block with a guestroom rate of $199/night, plus applicable taxes, for October 27-29, 2023. The rate applies to single/double occupancy for Classic Accessible/Classic Queen/Classic 2 Queen/Classic King rooms. The room block is limited and must be booked by September 29.
